Approvals FCC:
NC1000C/P-9 and NC-2400 have been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
The Mini PCI-E card with NCxxxx NeoMesh modules, is intended for easy integration in a PC. The card is utilising the USB interface in the Mini PCI-E interface to seamlessly connect the two UARTS of the NeoMesh module to the PC.
Together with the open source NeoCortec NeoGW Linux / Windows Gateware software, it is possible to create a industrial grade gateway with very little effort.
Although the Mini PCI-E card can be used to connect any software application on the PC to the UARTS of the NeoMesh module, it has been designed to work seamlessly together with the NeoGW Open Source Linux / Windows Gateway Software.
The interface in and out of the NeoMesh network through the NeoGateway is implemented as standard IP Sockets. To interface the gateway with a given Cloud service or proprietary server, an application must be developed which on one side connects to the NeoGateway IP Sockets, and on the other implements the necessary functionality to connect with the Cloud service or proprietary server.
The interface application can be implemented in any programming language as Python, Javascript, C/C++ and others, as long as it provides the necessary methods for working with IP Sockets.
The NeoGW software can be downloaded from the download section, where a User Guide for gateway software is also available for download.
NeoCortec offers a range of FeatherWing breakout boards designed to facilitate rapid prototyping and integration of NeoMesh wireless mesh network modules. These boards are compatible with the Adafruit Feather series of development boards, supporting the Arduino development environment, making them very easy to work with.
Breakout boards support two modes of usage:
– Stand alone
– Featherwing compatible with Adafruit Feather development boards
As an example, we have integrated NeoCortec gateway software with the Adafruit Feather ESP-32 WiFi device. This allows you to create a low cost gateway design, which can easily bridge between the low power mesh network and an IP based network or your preferred Cloud solution.
Use the breakout board to interface between the NeoMesh Wireless Mesh Network module and a host controller or a sensor.
ADAFRUIT FEATHER MODE
The formfactor of the breakout board is designed to fit directly with the Adafruit range of development boards, allowing easy integration with microcontrollers which can be used to create very advanced prototypes of actual NeoMesh based products.
STAND-ALONE MODE
The breakout board can also be used on its own, without an Adafruit Feather base-board. Easy access to the I/O’s on the NeoMesh module makes it simple to interface with sensors and actuators directly. Hook up a small battery to the breakout board, and a full sensor prototype is done in no time.
To help get you started evaluating the NeoCortec Wireless Mesh Networking Protocol, we have designed an evaluation kit which will take you through a few easy steps that will enable you to start sending payload data from one PC to another through the NeoCortec network.
Quick Start Guide Tutorial Videos
Once the basic steps have been completed, you can start building your own application: NeoCortec has designed the evaluation board such that you can easily interface to your favourite host controller:
– USB link to a PC with 2 virtual COM ports. An Application Port to be used for sending and receiving payload data. A System Port to be used for setting the configuration parameters as well as uploading new software releases should they become available.
– Pin headers allow for easy integration to MCU eval boards or other development boards such as Arduino or similar.
In addition, evaluation boards are equipped with a temperature- and humidity sensor and a potentiometer to generate an analog input signal to the built-in A/D converter. Finally, there is a series of LEDs which can easily be connected to the GPIOs of the modules to test the digital outputs.
The evaluation kit comes with a USB stick, which includes PC tools for sending and receiving payload data through the wireless mesh network, and for configuring and updating the software inside the module. The evaluation kit contains 5 pcs of evaluation boards with the NCxxxx modules installed.
Not a problem – evaluation boards are also available as stand alone items. You can find additional boards at our distributors. Afterwards, go to our Support section to find the evaluation kit software to get started.
