Core protocol strengthened, unaknowledged & broadcast transmissions made possible

With the release of NeoMesh 1.4 the performance of the core protocol has been improved along with added new features.

We have increased payload size by 10 per cent, without impacting power consumption. In addition, we have added network wide broadcast messaging, for sending messages simultaneously to all nodes in the network. Furthermore we have added the possibility of using unaknowledged transmission.

Unaknowledged messaging

NeoMesh is designed as a very stable and secure end-to-end architecture. Payload data is sent from the originator to the destination fully acknowledged which means that an acknowledge message is automatically routed back to the originator upon successful delivery at the destination. There is however an overhead in terms of current consumption and network capacity due to this.

Not all applications require this high level of reliability. That is why we now introduce unacknowledged messaging. Payload data is still being routed from originator to destination with local ack/nack handshake for every hop on route, but no acknowledge message is routed back to the originator.

Broadcast transmission

NeoMesh is using the patented SpeedRouting algorithm to route data from originator to destination. SpeedRouting is specifically optimized for large dynamic mesh networks and is appraised for its ability to route through very deep network structures with 100s of hops and at the same time being able to handle topology changes real time.

With release 1.4, NeoMesh is now also supporting a message broadcast functionality, which is particularly optimized for the same dynamic and large mesh structures which NeoMesh is capable of creating. A broadcast message is flooded to all nodes in the network, and will be delivered even if nodes have temporarily lost the connection. This is unique and a very strong feature in low power wireless connectivity solutions.

Furthermore, NeoMesh 1.4 features updated versions of all our tools, gateway, and API, to work seamlessly together with the new protocol functionalities. Also, we have designed an improved documentation package.

All in all, the release of NeoMesh 1.4 is offering developers even more possibilities while increasing the stability and versatility of our technology.
