August 27, 2025 – At The Things Conference 2025 in Amsterdam, Thomas Steen Halkier, CEO of NeoCortec, will deliver a keynote speech about how NeoMesh on LoRa overcomes star-topology limitations, supports dense networks and enables years-long operation on small batteries. The keynote will highlight reliability, coverage and power-consumption advantages created by combining the two leading wireless technologies.
Traditional LoRa-based wireless solutions often rely on single-hop communication, which can limit scalability, increase edge energy use and reduce reliability in dynamic environments. NeoMesh on LoRa introduces a paradigm shift by combining true mesh networking with LoRa’s long-range, interference-resistant physical layer.
NeoMesh is a decentralized mesh protocol optimized for battery-powered devices. Each node acts as a router, enabling autonomous self-configuration, dynamic routing and multi-hop communication without a central coordinator. Paired with LoRa modulation, it offers extended range and signal robustness for applications such as smart agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, industrial IoT and remote sensing.
On stand A8 at The Things Conference, NeoCortec and Embit will also demonstrate their latest EMB-LR1121-e/mesh dual-band module and a working NeoMesh network using LoRa modulation. Visitors can learn how the combination performs in noisy environments and how easy it is to deploy. Embit will additionally host a hands-on workshop around the modules.
About NeoCortec
NeoCortec was founded in 2007 with the aim of developing and patenting several innovations related to Wireless Sensor Networks. The main product is NeoMesh. NeoMesh is a wireless communication protocol to be embedded in smart devices to enable communication between the devices as well as to the cloud. NeoMesh is built completely from scratch to overcome some of the limitations that e.g. Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth and Thread have: scalability in number of devices, range and power consumption. At NeoCortec, we aim towards making non-smart and large buildings smarter by using NeoMesh. Easy upgrade without cabling. NeoMesh is available on ultra-low-power bi-directional wireless mesh network communication modules as well as on a license basis on many various chipsets.
