Simple and quick to set up, plus easy data processing in the cloud

June 26, 2024 – NeoCortec reported on its full sensor-to-cloud demonstration from Embedded World 2024, where it showed how easy it is to create a NeoMesh network using NeoMesh Click boards from MikroE and the IoTConnect cloud solution from Avnet. In Hall 3 and Hall 3A, the company set up a fully battery-powered NeoMesh wireless sensor network with 35 nodes in just a few hours by simply switching on the nodes in an arbitrary sequence.

The demonstration collected indoor-air-quality data including temperature, humidity and carbon-dioxide levels from two exhibition halls. It also counted nearby Bluetooth devices to estimate the number of people present throughout the day. Data from the nodes was routed through a BeaglePlay-based gateway and uploaded to Avnet’s IoT Connect cloud platform, where dashboards visualized both the IAQ information and a Bluetooth beacon heatmap.

Visitors to NeoCortec’s stand could view the data through the NeoMesh monitoring tool and see a practical example of how quickly a complete cloud-connected sensor deployment can be assembled.

About NeoCortec

NeoCortec was founded in 2007 with the aim of developing and patenting several innovations related to Wireless Sensor Networks. The main product is NeoMesh. NeoMesh is a wireless communication protocol to be embedded in smart devices to enable communication between the devices as well as to the cloud. NeoMesh is built completely from scratch to overcome some of the limitations that e.g. Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth and Thread have: scalability in number of devices, range and power consumption. At NeoCortec, we aim towards making non-smart and large buildings smarter by using NeoMesh. Easy upgrade without cabling. NeoMesh is available on ultra-low-power bi-directional wireless mesh network communication modules as well as on a license basis on many various chipsets.
