NeoCortec does not currently offer complete, out of the box Gateways. Instead, we offer various solutions that enable you to build your own gateway. Alternatively, you can purchase complete gateways from one of our partners.
Inside the NeoMesh network, a “gateway” is just an ordinary node in the mesh network. Gateways does not have any specific role except to interface between NeoMesh and another network, such as IP or similar. Unlike other mesh networks, the gateway has no task of setting up or administrating any parts of the NeoMesh network.
This means that any of the communication modules offered by NeoCortec, or supported modules from other manufacturers, can be used in a gateway for interfacing with the NeoMesh network. Examples of this can be the NC-modules, the Featherwing modules or the mPCIexpress modules.

In many applications, a Rasperry Pi can be used as a gateway. Similarly using the MikroE Clickboard together with a BeaglePlay board from BeagleBoard.org is also a simple and cost efficient approach to creating a gateway.
Both solutions work well together with the open source NeoGateway software which exposes two IP sockets sending and receiving JSON formatted packages. These boards are also capable of running the Network monitoring tool which allows you to automatically monitor the health of the network. The tool monitors parameters such as network integrity, routing paths, battery level and node temperature. If preset limits are exceeded, the monitoring tool will trigger alarms to be sent.

An extension to the NeoGateway software that automatically monitors the health of deployed NeoMesh networks.
