Taking place in parallel to the electronica show in Munich 14.-15. November since 2004, the Wireless Congress: Systems & Applications marks its 15-year anniversary this year. Being one of the major meeting places for the wireless community, the Wireless Congress attracts researchers, developers and application engineers alike.

The two conference days are packed with presentations. One of them will be held by NeoCortec CEO Thomas Steen Halkier, and it is titled “2nd generation Wireless Mesh Network for reliable communication in Unlicensed Spectrum”. Thomas will focus on how products designed to operate in the Unlicensed Frequency bands like 2.4GHz and 868/915 MHz ISM/SRD bands need to cope with disturbances and noise originating from the many devices already operating in the same spectrum.

Also, he will present the latest improvements in Wireless Mesh Networking that allow an entire network to run on batteries for many years, and at the same time deliver reliable communication in the noisy Unlicensed Frequency Bands. Thomas will go over the fundamentals of radio link budgets, how to account for noise, what levels of noise to expect, and how this impacts the performance of the wireless system.

The presentation will be held on Wednesday 14. November 14:30 in the IoT/Networks session.
